Drove up Mountain Loop Hwy south out of Darrington to check out road conditions and possible hikes.
Hikes in that area that I am interested in doing are 8 mile creek, Pugh Mountain, Round Lake/Lost Creek Ridge, and Peek a Boo Lake.
It looks like the road to the North Fork of the Sauk River is passable.
The Mt. Loop Hwy was closed about 1 mile south of Bedal. We hiked down the road about another 1.25 miles and only hit patchy snow.
Had a good time exploring with the family and the dog.
